Welcome to Westside Montessori School (est. 1986)

Westside Montessori School opened its doors 26 years ago, founded by Lee-Ann Mulrooney. It began with one preschool classroom, and a second one the following year. WMS now has Four Half School Day Preschool / Kindergarten (mixed-aged) classes. Bettina Tioseco took over Westside last year and continues to run it with the same traditions and commitment to Montessori and Early Childhood education.

WMS is a licensed Early Childhood facility and has a Group 3 Independent School classification for the Kindergarten program. The BC Ministry of Education and the Vancouver Coastal Health Authority regulate our facility and programs. The school is located in a converted house on Oak Street and West King Edward Avenue on the west side of Vancouver. It has two well-equipped Montessori classrooms, a specialist room, front and back play areas, purpose-built sandbox and a tricycle play area.

Westside Montessori School has 80 students amongst the 4 classes, and is licensed for 40 children to attend the morning sessions and 40 children to attend in the afternoons (20 per class).
