We are a Three Year School

PLEASE NOTE:  We are a Three Year School. When you enrol with Westside Montessori School, you are enrolling in our Three Year Montessori Foundation Program. We expect all WMS families to be committed to completing the full Montessori Foundation Program which includes the Kindergarten Year.

You are invited to submit an application for your child for the school year that your child turns three years old.

If your child is older than three years old, you may still apply to our program through the same application form. A commitment to complete their Kindergarten Year at WMS is required.

Students must be able to 

• attend class independently 
• function safely in the classroom
• use the washroom independently

ADMISSION PROCESS INFORMATION

WMS does not operate on a wait-list system. If there are more applicants than spaces, WMS accepts students based on a lottery system.

Applicants who are siblings of current students or alumni students that have graduated from our complete Three Year Program have enrollment priority.

Our intake of new students happens at the start of the school year in September. 

The admissions process begins in January and completes by the end of February. At this time, all spaces for September are filled. Students that are not inititally offered a space will be invited to join our Reserve List.

If a space becomes avialable later in the year, it is filled by a family who has completed an application and is on our Reserve List.

The application process involves four steps. 

Step 1.
Submit an Online Application

Submit an Online Application, complete with the $50 non-refundable application fee.

​At the end of the calendar year, applicant families will receive an invitation for our Annual Open House and Virtual Information Session held each January.

Step 2. 
Attend the Open House

Applicant families will be invited to attend our Annual Open House scheduled in mid January. This is an opportunity to visit our school facility, walk through our classrooms, chat with current parents of our program and meet our teachers. 

Step 3.
Attend the Virtual Information Session

The Virtual Information Session at the end of January is an opportunity to learn more about our school, the Montessori philosophy and the admissions process. Included will be an overview of our programs, student demonstrations and parent perspectives.

Step 4. 
Sign-up for a Family Interview

After the Virtual Information Session, applicant parents will be invited to sign up for a Family Interview in the first week of February. The Family Interview allows parents to chat with members of our Team, ask questions and share information about their family and what they are looking for in a school.
